Engines that operate through internal combustion rely on large amounts of clean air to ensure the fuel burns properly and generates the power needed to drive the vehicle. At Drouin Auto Care in Drouin, we understand how vital it is to keep your car's air filter in good condition as part of protecting your engine's health. Your engine requires extremely clean air to function efficiently. Dirt, dust, and other particles entering the engine can cause serious damage. That’s where the air filter comes into play. It ensures the air entering the combustion chambers is clean, shielding key engine components such as the pistons and cylinders from wear and damage. Why Replace Your Air Filter? Save on Fuel Costs: Your engine requires the correct balance of fuel and air to run efficiently. A clogged air filter restricts airflow, causing your engine to run inefficiently – often referred to as ‘running rich.’ This not only puts additional stress on your engine but can also increase fuel consumption by up to 10%. No one likes spending more on petrol than necessary! Protect Your Engine: Over time, air filters become clogged and weaker, increasing the risk of damage. A damaged or overly dirty air filter can allow harmful particles to enter the engine, potentially leading to expensive repairs. Benefits of Replacing Your Air Filter: Extends the life of your engine Improves fuel efficiency Reduces vehicle emissions At Drouin Auto Care, we always check the condition of your air filter during every full car service. Whether it’s a major or minor service, or one that follows your manufacturer’s handbook or logbook guidelines, you can trust us to keep your engine running smoothly.

Keep your engine healthy with clean air filters. Improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and extend engine life. Visit Drouin Auto Care for expert maintenance and reliable car servicing.

Modern vehicle keys are much more than a piece of cut metal. Many contain electronic security chips and remote locking technology that must be correctly programmed to communicate with your vehicle. We can help with: Spare car keys Replacement car keys Remote key fobs Key fob programming and replacement Replacement remotes Lost or damaged keys Most makes and models Our experienced technicians use professional diagnostic and programming equipment to cut and code keys so they're ready to operate your vehicle. Understanding today's car keys Not all vehicle keys are the same. Depending on your vehicle's age and manufacturer, your key may include one or more of the following: Traditional Keys Older vehicles often use a standard mechanical key with no electronics. Transponder Keys These contain a small electronic chip that communicates with your vehicle's immobiliser. Even if the key is cut correctly, the engine won't start unless the chip has been programmed. Remote Key Fobs These combine remote central locking with an immobiliser chip and often include buttons for locking, unlocking and opening the boot. Smart Keys (Proximity Keys) Many newer vehicles allow keyless entry and push-button start. These sophisticated keys require specialised programming so the vehicle can recognise them securely. Why have a spare key made? Many drivers don't think about getting a spare until it's too late. If your only key is lost, damaged or accidentally locked inside the vehicle, replacing it can become more complicated and may even require towing the vehicle depending on the make and model.

Having a spare key available can save you time, inconvenience and unnecessary stress if the unexpected happens. A common situation we see A customer recently contacted us after dropping their only remote key into water while on holidays. The remote stopped working and the vehicle could no longer be started because the transponder chip had been damaged. Fortunately, we were able to supply and program a replacement key without the customer needing to visit a dealership, getting them back on the road much sooner. Dealership alternative Many people assume they need to visit the dealership whenever they need a replacement key. In many cases, that's simply not necessary.
